As we look ahead to the 2010 Annual Meeting, I wanted to let the committee members and friends get a first look at the proposed sessions that ADA50 will be either sponsoring or co-sponsoring.  While all details have not yet been finalized, here is the draft list:

Paper Session (ADA50 Lead): Sustainable Transportation Programming: Project Feasibility, Prioritization, Selection and Implementation

Conference Session (ADA50 Co-Sponsor): Innovative Funding and Financing Mechanisms – Implications for Long Range Planning

Conference Session (ADA50 Co-Sponsor): Grab the Tiger by the Tail – Developing, Using and Evaluating Performance Metrics for Federal Transportation Stimulus Funds

Conference Session (ADA50 Co-Sponsor): Performance Based Reauthorization: Bolder and More Innovative – How Do We Respond?

Conference Session (ADA50 Co-Sponsor): The VMT Target Reduction Debate: Will this get us where we want to go?

Poster Session (ADA50 Sponsor): Innovations in Transportation Programming

If you will be attending the annual meeting and/or have additional interest in any of these sessions, please let me know. I would like to assign a session lead from our committee to attend and report on these sessions on behalf of the committee. This will help as we look towards the development of follow-up or related sessions for next year’s meeting.

Please stay tuned as we work to finalize the sessions and find out what the schedule looks like for the 2010 Annual Meeting.

Thanks,

From Famine to Feast!!!

After last year, where no papers were submitted to the committee, I am please to announce that twelve papers were submitted to the Transportation Programming, Planning and System Evaluation Committee for the 2010 Annual Meeting. From the papers submitted, four were selected for presentation at a podium session and one was selected for presentation at a poster session.

Overall, not only did we see a high volume of papers, but we received a number of well written papers covering all aspects of transportation programming amd planning including feasibility, decision making, and implementation.

Many thanks to Dale Janik who led the paper review effort and Committee Members and Friends involved in the review process who worked hard to make this happen!
