For interested Committee Members and Friends…

KDOT staff recently piloted the proposed expanded project selection process for highway projects through a series of local consultation meetings in October.  That process includes considering both economic impacts and regional priorities in addition to the traditional engineering factors used to selection projects.  I understand that the pilot has been very successful.  While some additional analysis is needed for a few specific projects, overall, stakeholder response has been positive to the expanded approach.  Julie Lorenz served as project manager for pilot and her blog has been posted on KTOC.  Please click on this link  if you’d like to learn more about the expanded project selection approach and what people had to say about it.
